How to install a
RedSeal software update
When an update is received you are sent a zip file usually called something similar to:-
ULM 3_55_03 FR 28_04_09.zip
The zip file will contain two files:
UniversalLeagueManager.chm....... : this is the help file
UniversalLeagueManager.exe........ : this is the actual program
To install and run the new software all you need do is replace the old files with the new files.
Note: any shortcuts you have set up will not change and any leagues you are running will be unaffected.
1. Open a window that shows the folder c:/program files/RedsealSW
This can be done by selecting Start, All Programs, Accessories, Windows Explorer.
The image below shows how the window opened using windows explorer should look. Note that the arrows point to the two files that you will be replacing.

2. Save the attachment
In your email program (e.g. Outlook or Outlook express) save the attachment to c:\program files\RedsealSW.
You can now close, or minimise, your email program.
The image below shows what the folder should now look like. The arrow shown below, points to the attachment that you have just saved.

3. Unblock the attachment
You should next check if your email program has blocked the attachment. To do this, right click on the attachment and select properties. The area under advanced should be blank as shown below. However, if there is a button that says Unblock then click it.

4. Open the attachment
Right click on the attachment in the window that you are viewing the files and select Open with Winzip. This is usually the first option, as highlighted by the arrow in the following image.
You may have other compression programs such as WinRar. It is fine to use other programs to uncompress your zip file if you wish. This example only uses WinZip as it is the most popular.

5. Drag and drop
the new files
A new window will open showing the contents of the zip file. The zip file will usually contain the two files showing in the image below.
Click the left mouse button on one of the files and, while holding the left mouse button down, drag the file from the zip window to the folder window (this is shown by the arrow below). (This must be done for both files).

6. Confirm file replace
When asked if you would like to replace the existing file, be sure to select Copy and Replace as shown below.

7. Check the version
At this point it is worth checking that you have correctly copied the files. Right click on the file with the 1v2 icon and select properties. Then click on the details tab. The product version shown should match the filename of the zip file.
In the example shown below the filename contains 3_55_03 which matches the product version 3.55.0003

8. Run in Admin mode (windows Vista only)
After checking the product version click on the Compatibility tab and check that the privilege level is administrator. The box pointed to below must be ticked.
